Mr. Meyer, Room 15

Introduction

Welcome to Room 15 and the Sixth Grade! I have been teaching for 21 years, and this is my twelfth year at Phoebe Hearst Elementary School.  20 of those 21 years have been in the 6th grade here in Sacramento. I look forward to working with each of you to make this the best year ever for your child.

    Classroom Expectations
  1. Homework will be completed on a nightly basis.  Late homework will be permitted but may come with a percentage grade reduction.
  2. Students can expect to read around 15-30 minutes a night and perform some written task based on the reading.
  3. Students will complete a writing project roughly every two weeks that must be typed.  This ongoing assignment will be kept in a student scrapbook to be taken home at the end of the year.
  4. SUPPLIES: Expo marker (smaller, fine tip), ruler, basic calculator, and colored pencils will be helpful.  Please do NOT use binders unless you plan to keep them in your backpack at all times.

Philosophy

I believe every child deserves respect, love, and attention in order to help him or her succeed.  I will give 100% of my time and effort to seeing each and every student reach academic, social, and emotional goals.  While no child is like another, I will be the same teacher and role model to everyone.

I invite you to come visit our school and learn more about our philosophy for preparing your child for success.
